Ryo Umezawa

Ryo Umezawa is a seasoned professional with diverse experience in the startup and venture capital landscape.

Having spent a significant time in the Philippines, Ryo went on to pursue a degree in International Business and Economics at Sophia University in Tokyo.

He has a strong background in business development, marketing, and starting up companies, particularly in mobile, online marketing, advertisement, and platform businesses.

Ryo has held various key roles in notable organizations such as J-Seed Ventures, TrafficGate (Rakuten, Inc. group company), Hailo Japan, HomeAway, Tinder Japan, and East Ventures.

With a keen interest in startups, Ryo is currently leading New Business and Global M&A at Vector, serving as a venture capitalist at Antler, and actively engaging as an angel investor in startups.

He has a prolific networking capability, evident from his role as a serious networker, blogger, and his involvement in the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers Community in Tokyo hub.
