Social Justice Philanthropy Consultant
Rye Young is a multi-faceted and accomplished professional with experience and expertise in various fields, including Arabic language and culture, culinary arts, and social justice advocacy. Rye has a Bachelor's degree in Arabic language, culture, and literature from Bard College, as well as additional study in Arabic language and literature at the University of Jordan. Rye also holds a degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from the Institute of Culinary Education.
Rye has made a significant impact in the social justice space, serving on multiple boards and associations. Rye has been a member of the board of directors for Funders for LGBTQ Issues, Groundswell Fund, and Funders Concerned About AIDS. Additionally, Rye has served as Executive Director and Program Officer for Third Wave Fund, a social justice organization. Rye is a former board member at URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity and Groundswell Action Fund. Rye also worked as Program Assistant and Program Associate for Third Wave Foundation.
Rye has impressive experience in culinary arts and has worked as a food writer and consultant, as well as a catering events chef. Rye also recently founded Rye Young Consulting, which provides consulting services for businesses and organizations looking to engage with the LGBTQ+ community and gender equity issues.
