Kierra Johnson

Kierra Johnson is the Executive Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force, a position she has held since 2021. She previously served as the Deputy Executive Director after joining the organization in 2018. Johnson has a rich background in organizational leadership, program development, and youth leadership, particularly in the realms of reproductive justice and LGBTQ rights.12

As a bisexual Black woman, Johnson is one of the few out queer-identified women of color leading a national LGBTQ organization. She has been recognized as a national expert on queer and reproductive rights issues, having testified before the U.S. House of Representatives and contributed to major publications like Newsweek and The New York Times.12 Her leadership has earned her several accolades, including the Young Women of Achievement Award and recognition as one of Washingtonian Magazine's Most Influential Washingtonians Under 40.1

Johnson's commitment to LGBTQ advocacy is evident in her vision for the Task Force, emphasizing dignity, liberation, and joy for all individuals within the community. She has expressed excitement about continuing the organization's mission to ensure that LGBTQ people not only survive but thrive.12
