Ryan Shafer is a seasoned Design, Innovation and User Experience Leader with a track record of delivering strategic design capabilities to Global Brands such as UnitedHealthcare, Johnson & Johnson, CVS/Caremark, and Disney.

With 20 years of product & service experience, Ryan has a unique blend of cross-disciplinary experiences that enable him to grow and build design and innovation teams, processes, and resources to translate user insights into actionable design directions.

As an Effective Communicator, Ryan applies Design Thinking to establish vision, inspire and lead multi-disciplinary teams through the design and innovation process, resulting in compelling design deliverables across various industries.

Known for his strong relationship-building skills, Ryan is a Mentor who has guided and grown teams, and served as an educator in Industrial Design at Massachusetts College of Art & Design and mentor to start-up teams at Harvard Business School's iLab.
