Iron Yard Ventures is the Venture Capital arm of University of Phoenix owned The Iron Yard (coding academy).

As Managing Director, I created the Accelerator curriculum for the organization, the Venture Capital and Venture Accelerator arm of The Iron Yard Coding Academy - Accelerator was the 6th program focused on eCommerce, hospitality, and gaming.  Established the entire program, scouted and recruited companies; raised capital, secured sponsorships, and sourced co-working space; recruited mentors, advisors, and entrepreneurs for the program.

Managed program and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, coordinated and delegated cross-project initiatives. Provided advisory to teams on fundraising, networking, strategy, drafting, and negotiation of LOI’s, recruiting, employment, and client contracts. Identified risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the program; analyzed, evaluated, and overcame program risks.

Created the advisory board of investors, industry executives, domain experts, and former startup founders, including early investors in leading social media, technology, and wellness companies. Organized and designed investor and community events; developed presentations to senior executives for Pitch Events and Demo Day.

It features a directory of Tampa Bay entrepreneurs and companies, a calendar of meetups in the area, and a map displaying local tech companies. This is a true community site filled with valuable resources available to founders and startups and information on how to get involved. The purpose of Tampa Bay Tech is to unite the local tech community and garner the attention it needs so the rest of the community can learn about, support or get involved.
