FERNANDA DE NEGRI

Fernanda De Negri, a distinguished economist with a PhD from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), currently serves as the Director at the Division of Production and Innovation Studies at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA). With a rich background in various governmental roles such as head of the Office of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and economic advisor to the Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade, Fernanda brings a wealth of experience to her current position.

Throughout her career, Fernanda De Negri has made significant contributions to the field of economics, particularly in areas such as foreign trade, foreign investment, innovation, and productivity. Her research work has been acknowledged and awarded, including receiving the BNDES Prize in Economics for her dissertation on the commercial performance of foreign companies in Brazil. Notably, her book on productivity in Brazil was a finalist for the prestigious Jabuti Prize in Economics.

In addition to her role at IPEA, Fernanda has also enriched her academic journey by studying as a Visiting Researcher in Economia Aplicada at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her educational background showcases her dedication to advancing her knowledge and expertise in economics, evident through her doctoral studies at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas.
