Rohit Manchanda, Trade and Investment Commissioner for India at New South Wales Government
Rohit Manchanda was the Trade and Investment Commissioner for India at the New South Wales Government from October 2009 to December 2020, a position he held for over 11 years.1 In this role, he was responsible for:
- Establishing the India office in Mumbai and developing the strategy & business plan for India
- Organizing the London Mayor's India visit in November 2007
- Delivering investment, education, film and tourism opportunities to the relevant agencies
- Working with the Maharashtra Government to assist them in collaborating with Transport for London and the London Government. Facilitating the Maharashtra Chief Minister's visit to London.
- Building and fostering city to city relationships and opportunities related to the 2012 Olympic Games in London
Prior to this, Manchanda worked as a Business Development Manager at the Australian Trade Commission in Mumbai from May 2002 to September 2007.1 He successfully assisted numerous Australian companies to build their India strategy and enter the Indian market.
Manchanda holds an MBA in Marketing from École des Ponts Business School and has completed management development programs from Harvard Business School, Indian School of Business, and IIM Ahmedabad.1
