Rod Elder is a Global Principal at Equinix who has extensive experience in the technology industry. His expertise lies in collaborating with corporate leaders and strategists to provide Equinix's world-class Interconnected Oriented Architecture (IoA) framework to extract value, capitalize on opportunities, and meet corporate obligations. His focus is not just limited to technology solutions but also includes well-positioned operational assets and creative mindful business strategies.

Rod has a strong background in IT solutions, and he helps companies understand how to right-source their applications on the Equinix platform. Equinix has a unique global interconnection ecosystem providing customers with access to several partners and networks through cross-connects, Internet exchanges, and Ethernet exchanges. The Equinix cloud exchange has a global footprint and enables customers to access eight million lit buildings in 800+ cities worldwide through 17 Ethernet exchanges and 19 Internet exchanges.

Rod has worked in various organizations, including the US Air Force, Shell Oil, MFS/Woldcom - MFS Datanet, and Allied Riser Communications, and has held positions ranging from Network Technologist to Director, Strategic Solutions. He was the founder and CTO of Wioasis, Inc., and has also held Sales Engineering positions with Reliance Globalcom/Yipes and Equinix. Rod is also a MEF CE2.0 CECP graduate.
