Rod Ainsworth

Rod Ainsworth is a seasoned professional dedicated to serving communities and the arts with a focus on utilizing storytelling for social change.

With extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector and local government, Rod has held senior roles in executive management, producing, consulting, and business development.

His expertise spans strategic planning, community engagement, business development, financial management, fundraising, marketing, and more.

Rod's creative background includes writing, directing, producing, and project management within the performing arts sector.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at CQUniversity with a research focus on reimagining opera, complemented by a Master of Arts (Research) from Queensland University of Technology, a Graduate Diploma of Management (Arts) from the University of South Australia, and a Bachelor of Education (Hons) from Queensland University of Technology.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Rod is actively involved in various memberships such as Copyright Agency Limited, APRA AMCOS, and the Australasian Association of Writing Programs.

Throughout his career, Rod has held key positions including Director of Programming at Queensland Theatre, Manager of Arts & Cultural Services at Bundaberg Regional Council, and roles at Moncrieff Entertainment Centre, Creative Regions Ltd, and Outback Arts inc.
