Robert Romano is a rebel with a cause - to improve the healthcare system in the U.S. With a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering both with a perfect 4.0 GPA from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering with a 3.95 GPA from The Johns Hopkins University, Romano has a strong technical background. He is also no stranger to other aspects of business, including user experience testing, operations planning, and marketing strategy. With a goal to align conflicting interests and make healthcare more affordable and efficient, Romano serves as COO and Co-Founder at Glidian, and previously founded Switchmate Inc. before being acquired. Outside of his entrepreneurial endeavors, Romano has interned at Apple as a Firmware QA Intern and Boston Scientific as a Supplier Engineering Intern. He has also worked as a Mechanical Engineering Teaching Assistant at Johns Hopkins University and a Lab Technician at Computer Integrated Interventional Systems Lab. Romano has conducted research as a Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins Neuroengineering Lab and interned as a Biomedicine Intern at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
