Robert Byrd

Dr. Robert Byrd is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.

He specializes in offshore platform decommissioning, cost and schedule risk assessment, and regulatory agency liaison.

Dr. Byrd's expertise extends to planning and executing decommissioning projects, including well plugging and abandonment, and assessing requirements and costs for onshore facility decommissioning.

His background includes roles with international marine facilities contractors, consulting engineering firms, and service as a U.S. Coast Guard officer.

His responsibilities have encompassed diverse areas such as systems engineering, construction management, and marine operations in varied conditions.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer and actively participates in multiple professional societies.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dr. Byrd is a multiengine-instrument rated pilot and serves as a Director of Angel Flights South Central.

He has also held leadership positions including Chairman of the US Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association Board of Directors and as a member of the Academy Board of Trustees.
