Rob Wiesenthal

Rob Wiesenthal is the Founder and CEO of Blade Urban Air Mobility, Inc., a company specializing in short-distance aviation and helicopter transport services. He founded Blade in 2014, and it has since become a leading brand in urban air mobility, particularly known for its helicopter services connecting city centers in the United States. Over 75% of Blade's first-time helicopter passengers had never flown in a helicopter before using Blade's services, highlighting the company's role in expanding the market for short-distance aviation.13

Before establishing Blade, Wiesenthal held significant roles in major corporations. He served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sony Corporation of America until 2012 and was also the Chief Operating Officer of Warner Music Group from 2013 to 2015. His career began at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he worked in various capacities for over a decade.23

Wiesenthal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rochester and has been involved with several boards, including TripAdvisor and Starz.34 Under his leadership, Blade has focused on creating a strong corporate culture and expanding its network to enhance customer experience in urban air travel.2
