Rob Collins

Rob Collins, the Managing Director at Cooking Vinyl Records, has had a fascinating journey in the music industry. His career kickstarted in the 1980s when he worked as an A&R scout at Virgin Records, where he signed notable bands like Cabaret Voltaire and The Pale Fountains. Despite missing out on signing The Smiths, his keen eye for talent led him to a successful tenure at Some Bizarre, collaborating with diverse artists such as Soft Cell, The The, and Psychic TV.

In 1986, Rob ventured into launching Product Inc in partnership with Mute Records, introducing audiences to acts like Pussy Galore and The Young Gods. After a brief foray into artist management, he joined Warner-owned Radar Records in 1994, steering the label's success alongside artists like Midget. Following a series of industry shifts, he landed at Cooking Vinyl in 1999, initially as a Product Manager before transitioning into A&R and Business Development roles, working with a diverse roster spanning from The Prodigy to Marilyn Manson.

Currently serving as the Managing Director at Cooking Vinyl, Rob's wealth of experience and knack for identifying musical talent have been pivotal in shaping the label's success. With a classic BMW 3 Series as his ride and a penchant for bringing his dog to work, Rob Collins continues to leave his mark on the music industry.
