Rob Collins, the Managing Director at Cooking Vinyl Records, has had a fascinating journey in the music industry. His career kickstarted in the 1980s when he worked as an A&R scout at Virgin Records, where he signed notable bands like Cabaret Voltaire and The Pale Fountains. Despite missing out on signing The Smiths, his keen eye for talent led him to a successful tenure at Some Bizarre, collaborating with diverse artists such as Soft Cell, The The, and Psychic TV.
In 1986, Rob ventured into launching Product Inc in partnership with Mute Records, introducing audiences to acts like Pussy Galore and The Young Gods.
