In addition to his administrative roles, Rick was a founding member of the California State Extension Services Committee that crafted a Marketing and Fundraising Certificate Program. Rick has held numerous significant positions throughout his esteemed career. He currently serves as Principal at Larkin, Brooks & Pratt, where he uses his extensive knowledge to consult on various fundraising initiatives. His previous roles include Director of Development at notable institutions such as the Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden, the YMCA LA South Pasadena San Marino Branch, the Bruce Museum, and the Farnsworth Museum of Art. Additionally, Rick served as Vice President of Development at the Aquarium of the Pacific and Director of Advancement at The Webb Schools.
As President of the South Pasadena Rotary Club, Rick honed his leadership skills and developed a knack for board development, consensus building, and hiring productive staff. His diverse professional journey enables him to adapt to various organizational cultures while implementing best practices in fundraising and development.
Having recently returned to Stonington, Connecticut, Rick is excited to reconnect with former colleagues and establish new relationships within the community. His commitment to supporting and enhancing local non-profits through effective fundraising strategies continues to define his career and personal satisfaction.
Rick is also married to a talented modern dance performer and choreographer who has contributed significantly to the arts, evidenced by her tenure as a full professor at Pomona College. Together, they share a deep appreciation for creativity, artistry, and community engagement, which reflects in both their personal and professional lives.
