Richard Ulffers
Head of School at International School of Boston
Richard Ulffers is the Head of School at the International School of Boston (ISB), a position he has held since July 1, 2016. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in international and bilingual education, with a significant portion of his career spent at the French American International School of San Francisco (FAIS) where he served for 16 years. During his tenure at FAIS, Ulffers held various roles, including Assistant Head of School and High School Principal, where he focused on enhancing the school's visibility and academic offerings, particularly in the French national curriculum and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.13
Ulffers is recognized for his leadership in international school accreditation and has been involved with the Council of International Schools. He is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of International Education Board. His commitment to bilingual education and understanding of diverse family backgrounds is evident in his approach to education at ISB.12
