Richard Staynings is a globally renowned thought leader, author, public speaker, and advocate for improved cybersecurity in the Healthcare and Life Sciences industry.

He has a strong background in cybersecurity leadership and client consulting, with over 25 years of experience in the field, holding various executive titles such as CIO, CISO, CRO, CTO, Partner, and Principal.

Richard has served on multiple healthcare security working groups, as a Board Member of AEHIS, and on the HIMSS International Privacy and Cybersecurity Committee.

He has advised international governments and industry leaders on healthcare security strategy and served as an expert witness on Committees of Inquiry into high-profile healthcare breaches.

Currently, Richard is the Chief Security Strategist for Cylera, focusing on medical device and HIoT security. He also teaches postgraduate cybersecurity and health informatics degrees at the University of Denver University College and advises governments and private companies.
