Rich Cahill
Rich Cahill is a talented interaction designer and creative coder with a keen focus on designing and prototyping humanity-centric shapes for emerging technologies.
In 2016, Rich graduated with a 1st class Honours in Digital Interaction Design from DJCAD, University of Dundee, where he excelled in his final year project, yougra.ph, that concentrated on developing AI-driven mental health support tools, earning him the prestigious Sir James Black award for his remarkable contribution to research and scholarship.
Rich gained valuable experience in human-centered design during his tenure at the renowned design consultancy IDEO, collaborating with a diverse range of organizations including prominent furniture companies, luxury retailers, national government agencies, tech startups, nonprofits, and automobile manufacturers.
Apart from his design pursuits, Rich enjoys engaging in front-end development for side-projects, maintaining a canal-side residence while indulging in the role of a lock-keeper, and curating generative print magazines focused on the art of generative design.
His educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Digital Interaction Design BSc (Hons) with First Class Honours from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, along with a Leaving Certificate from Schull Community College.
Throughout his career, Rich has held key roles in organizations like WE3, richmak.es, Generative Engineering, and Arrival, where he contributed as a Head of Design and Senior Interaction Designer. His earlier experiences as an Interaction Designer and Technologist at IDEO further solidify his expertise in the field.
