Ricardo Barros is an executive leader in the renewable energy business with a strong background in Independent Power Production (IPP) in Brazil and France. He has been widely recognized for his exceptional capabilities in managing renewable energy portfolios, originating large-scale renewable energy projects, and securing long-term contracts, he has earned multiple achievements in his career.

He graduated in Electrical Engineering from both UFCG - Universidade Federal de Campina Grande and INSA Lyon. Throughout his career, Barros has held several leadership positions in highly respected energy enterprises, including Head of Country - Brazil at Lightsource bp, Country Manager - Brazil at ENGIE Brasil, and Development Director - Wind Power - Brazil at Voltalia.

Barros's expertise lies in origination, management, and development of IPP renewable energy projects. His background includes massive photovoltaic (PV), wind energy projects that have created sustainability and economic growth opportunities in the community, avoided tons of carbon emissions per year, and generated billions of Brazilian Real in revenues. He has also deals with real state contracts, negotiated with farmers for the development of renewable energy projects.

Aside from his professional expertise in sustainable development, Barros is committed to promoting positive social impacts alongside environmental benefits. He is a member of the advisory board of the Associação Brasileira de Energia Solar Fotovoltaica - ABSOLAR.
