Ram Chaudhary is a seasoned professional with over 15 years of experience in working with NGOs in Africa. His expertise lies in food security, sustainable agriculture, and project planning, with a special focus on irrigated and rainfed agriculture, rural development, agricultural research, seed sector, crop production, and crop diversity.
His extensive background includes roles in implementation, general operations, impact evaluation, monitoring, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agriculture and plant breeding, and leading various agricultural development initiatives.
Ram Chaudhary's super specialty is in rice crops, and he has a wealth of experience in crisis areas such as civil strife areas in countries like Myanmar, Iraq, and Uganda, providing short-term help for long-term impact with limited funds.
His donor agency experience includes working with notable organizations like UNDP, UNHCR, FAO, WFP, AusAID, Chemonics, EU, Ford Foundation, Japan Govt., USAID, and the World Bank.
In terms of institutional experience, Ram Chaudhary has worked with CGIAR institutes like CIAT, IITA, IRRI, and WARDA. He has also collaborated with agricultural universities in India, FAO, and the World Bank.
With a broad geographic working experience across Asia, Africa, America, and Europe, he has been involved in projects in countries such as India, Kenya, Nigeria, Brazil, USA, Germany, and many more.
Apart from his professional affiliations, Ram Chaudhary holds a Ph.D. from Agra University, India, and has pursued post-doctoral studies in Plant Breeding at the Technical University of Munich.
Currently serving as the Chairman at PRDF, Ram Chaudhary has held key positions in reputable organizations like FAO of the United Nations, International Rice Research Institute, and The World Bank.
