Rahul Mathur

Rahul Mathur is the founder and managing partner of Sammasan Capital, a private credit firm specializing in debt financing solutions for mid-market corporates and sponsor owned businesses in Asia and ANZ.

With over 20 years of experience in banking and financial services, Rahul has expertise in secured cash flow and asset-based lending, including leveraged finance, corporate acquisitions, project finance, trade receivable, inventory-based loans, and equipment leasing.

Having closed more than 40 structured credit transactions amounting to over $1.3 billion, Rahul has played significant roles in deal structuring and negotiations with sponsors and borrowers.

His professional background includes dealing with complex debt financings for mid-market and large publicly listed companies, as well as devising growth strategies for lending businesses during his tenures at GE Capital and SMBC.

Having resided in Hong Kong and Singapore for a combined period of over 19 years, Rahul has cultivated a strong network of contacts in the private equity, banking, non-bank lending, credit funds, financial advisory, and corporate sectors.

He is well-versed in deal management across different business cycles and possesses in-depth knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in various regions including North Asia, South & Southeast Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.

Rahul Mathur's sector exposure spans across industries such as TMT, business process outsourcing, healthcare, education, manufacturing, services, power, transportation, EMS, and oil & gas.

His educational background includes studying at The Air Force School, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, and earning a BE in Electronics from Aligarh Muslim University.
