Rahul Gupta

Rahul Gupta is an Assistant Professor at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business and a Senior Policy Scholar at the Center for Business and Public Policy.

His research focuses on labor, organizational, and urban economics, exploring how firm behavior in local labor markets impacts income inequality, spatial clustering of innovative activity, entrepreneurship, and technological change.

He investigates site selection processes of large firms, the impact on local firm structures and workers, evaluates welfare implications of subsidies, and studies the relationship between housing markets and industry production and innovation.

Rahul is a Special Sworn Status researcher at the U.S. Census Bureau, utilizing restricted-use administrative tax and Census records for projects on local labor markets and firm dynamics.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Duke University, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from Boston University, and a B.S., B.A. in Finance, Economics, and Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington.

Formerly, he was a Senior Policy Scholar and Assistant Professor at Georgetown University, a Doctoral Student at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, and a Research Associate at Harvard Business School.
