Rahim Esfandyarpour
Assistant Professor @ UC Irvine | PhD
Rahim Esfandyar-Pour is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he holds a joint appointment in the departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering within the Samueli School of Engineering. He completed his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University in 2014 and 2011, respectively.
His research focuses on several advanced areas, including:
- Nanotechnology and Nanoscience: Development of smart nanoelectronics and flexible electronics.
- Biomedical Applications: Creation of stretchable and wearable bio-devices, microfluidics, and biosensors for healthcare applications.
- Integrated Technologies: Innovations in Internet of Things (IoT) bio-devices and technology for personalized medicine and Point of Care (POC) diagnostics.
Esfandyar-Pour leads the Laboratory for Integrated Nano Bio Electronics Innovation, where he and his interdisciplinary team work on next-generation technologies that enhance human-machine interfaces and sustainable energy solutions. His work has garnered recognition, including the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2023, highlighting his contributions to both medical and defense applications through innovative research.12
