Rachel Davies

Rachel Davies is a senior software engineer at TES Global.23 She has experience developing data pipelines in Python and JavaScript on AWS.3 Prior to her role at TES Global, Rachel worked as a Lead Engineer at Makers Academy, where she developed in Ruby.3

Rachel is also known for her contributions to the tech community. She is the co-author of the "Agile Coaching" book4 and has been involved in teaching and speaking at tech events. Rachel has taught science in inner London secondary schools and colleges for 20 years until January 2023.1 She is currently a Biology Subject Director for Initial Teacher Training and a Lecturer in Science Education at King's College London.1

In her academic pursuits, Rachel completed an MA in Education part-time and is currently working on a PhD titled "An exploration of the relationship between biology teacher habitus, beliefs and the influence of their institutions on their teaching practice within the context of neoliberal education policy".1

Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys outdoor activities, particularly hiking in mountains throughout Europe, Asia, and South America. She also likes gardening and playing the piano.1
