R. Clifton Spargo was the inaugural Dixon Professor of Creative Writing at Wittenberg University in the fall of 2014.13 He is a Chicago-based fiction writer, cultural critic, and author of the novel "Beautiful Fools: The Last Affair of Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald".23 Spargo holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, a Master's degree from Yale Divinity School, and a doctorate in literature from Yale University.3
