Consultant, Senior Devops Web Admin at IntercontinentalExchange, Inc.
My most recent experience has been as a computer and network administrator, supporting a variety of Unix and WIndows systems. I've dabbled with Macintosh computers too, and much prefer Linux over Windows. I've also done software architecture, design, development and system testing. I'd very much like to find an opportunity to grow my understanding of object oriented design and development. Java seems to be the commercially viable alternative, but Python looks better to me.
Specialties: I've run data centers, and as a system administrator have handled Oracle installations and Cisco IOS configurations. I've programmed in IBM-360 assembler language, PL/I, Cobol (ugh!), Perl, C, C++, awk, ksh, Spitbol, APL and written JCL for MVS (though JCL can hardly be called a programming language). I've dabbled with Java and with Python..
