Qirong Ho

Co-Founder & CTO at Petuum, and Assistant Professor at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI)

Qirong Ho is an accomplished machine learning researcher and an expert in distributed computing systems. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University and is the winner of the SIGKDD Dissertation Award.

He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Petuum, Inc, where he is responsible for leading the development of scalable machine learning algorithms and ML execution systems. He is also the creator of the open-source CASL project, which aims to build a platform for distributed machine learning that can be used by researchers and practitioners alike.

Prior to joining Petuum, Ho served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SMU - Singapore Management University and as a Scientist and Principal Investigator at the Institute for Infocomm Research. He has also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Facebook.

With his extensive experience in the machine learning field, Ho has become a leading authority on scalable and distributed machine learning systems. His research interests include distributed machine learning, scalable algorithms, and ML execution systems.
