Pirthipal Singh

Pirthipal Singh is a highly experienced biochemist with a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Leeds. Singh has worked in the industry for over 30 years, primarily for ICI, Zeneca, and AstraZeneca. Among his many key activities in the industry include assay development, screening support, and established assay miniaturization and automation for high-throughput screening (HTS). He has also evaluated new technologies and provided focused technical support in Kinases.

Singh is a trainer/presenter for new graduate training and drug discovery workshops, and he is a member of the Society of Biomolecular Sciences (SBS) since 1996. He specializes in biochemical assay development, assay design, assay technology selection, and data analysis for various target classes. Additionally, he has experience in designing novel assays, including using physiological substrates in enzyme inhibition assays and developing binding assays to identify novel sites/inhibitors for non-phosphorylated and mutant forms of kinases.

Outside of his industry experience, Singh has studied Mathematics Enhancement Course and PGCE (Mathematics, Secondary) and is currently an examination invigilator at Wilmslow High School.
