    Duy Nguyen is a biochemist with extensive experience in synthetic biology, antibody discovery, protein engineering, and drug discovery. He currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Capstan Therapeutics, where he has been working since August 2022.1

    Prior to his current role, Nguyen held positions as a Senior Scientist at ArsenalBio, Scientist II at Outpace Bio and Lyell Immunopharma, and a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSF.1 He received his PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where he conducted research in Jason Chin's lab on genetic code expansion methods.1

    Nguyen's research focuses on discovering novel tools and therapeutics to better understand and treat cancer, autoimmune, and infectious diseases. He has published several papers on topics such as bioconjugation of COL1 protein on liquid-like solid surfaces to study tumor invasion dynamics, 3D in vitro platforms for cell and explant culture in liquid-like solids, and CAR T cell locomotion in solid tumor microenvironments.2

    In addition to his scientific work, Nguyen has been an Associate Editor of the Journal of Surfactants and Detergents for the past six years and has written and published 114 papers and issued 47 patents based on his research discoveries.3
