Peter Smet

Peter Smet is a professional with a diverse background encompassing innovation, business development, journalism & media, and the public sector. He holds an International Baccalaureate from the International School Hilversum where he achieved a score of 38/45. Peter pursued further education at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Culture, and a Master of Arts in Mediastudies with a specialization in Journalism and Media: Research and Editing.

In his professional journey, Peter Smet has held various key roles, including serving as the Deputy Director and Innovation & Policy Coordinator at Stimuleringsfonds voor de Journalistiek (Dutch Journalism Fund). Prior to this, he was the Innovation and Process Coordinator at the same organization. His experience also includes working as a Freelance Reviewer at BNNVARA, a Web Editor at De Balie, and as the Chair of Vers in de Pers, the section for students and newcomers at NVJ - Dutch Association of Journalists.

Peter has further honed his skills through roles such as Editorial Intern at Medialogica (HUMAN/VPRO), Assistant Editor at De Balie, Policy Officer at VPRO, Editor-in-Chief at the Student Magazine Xi, Film Editor at Studentenblad Xi, Writer at Studentenblad Xi, and Sales Assistant at McGregor Fashion Group.
