Peter (Pappy) Young

Peter (Pappy) Young is an experienced social entrepreneur and project mentor with a rich background in international development work.
In the 1970s, Peter served as a Patrol Officer for the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs in Papua New Guinea, managing various government patrol posts and overseeing operations in the East Sepik District, earning him the Police Overseas Service Medal (POSM) for his exceptional service.
From 1979 to 1998, Peter held senior management positions, focusing on establishing training programs and co-founding the SolvePoverty Project, which provided IT training to young orphans in Manila, leading to numerous international awards and the establishment of impactful projects like Syntactics and LetItHelp.
Inspired by Muhammad Yunus's Grameen Bank model, Peter shifted his focus to promoting social business in developing countries in Asia and the South Pacific, ultimately leading to the creation of the CareForces project in the USA in collaboration with Lou CasaBianca.
Currently, Peter is actively engaged in the Community Team Builders network, working with like-minded social entrepreneurs to drive positive transformation globally.
