Pedro Santa Clara

Pedro Santa Clara is a highly accomplished Full Professor of Finance at the Nova School of Business and Economics with an extensive background in academia and business.

With over two decades of experience in the field of finance, Pedro has held various prestigious academic positions at institutions like UCLA's Anderson School of Management before joining Nova SBE in 2007.

Pedro holds a Ph.D. in Finance from INSEAD and has contributed significantly to the academic community with more than 30 published papers in renowned journals of Finance and Economics.

Apart from his academic pursuits, Pedro has been actively involved in leading groundbreaking initiatives such as the construction of the new campus in Carcavelos for Nova SBE and the establishment of Fundação Alfredo de Sousa.

In 2019, Pedro ventured into the entrepreneurial world by founding 'Shaken Not Stirred,' a company focused on promoting and managing education projects, and has since launched multiple successful ventures like 42 Lisboa, 42 Porto, Miles in the Sky, and TUMO.

Pedro is also a founding partner of Atrium Portfolio Managers and Data4Deals, showcasing his diverse interests and expertise in asset management and fintech.

As a socially conscious individual, Pedro is a founder and board member of Instituto Mais Liberdade, a think tank advocating for liberal ideals of individual freedom, market economy, and democracy.

Outside his professional endeavors, Pedro cherishes spending time with his family and enjoys activities like running, crossfit, and reading when he manages to find some spare time.
