Pedro Ferreira, PhD AFHEA, is a neuroscientist, public engagement practitioner, and higher education pedagogy specialist. Currently serving as the Education and Public Engagement Manager at the Biochemical Society, Pedro leads and manages a renowned program of educational and public engagement events, activities, and resources focused on bringing molecular biosciences to audiences of all ages. Having won the prestigious Hall of Famelab science communication competition at London's Natural History Museum in 2015, Pedro furthered his education by obtaining a PhD in Neuroscience and a Wellcome Trust-funded MSc in Science Media Production at Imperial College London. In addition to his full-time role, Pedro is pursuing a part-time MPhil/PhD at Birkbeck, University of London, researching the reception history of theories of mental health, with a particular focus on Attachment Theory post-1939.
