Paula Makkonen

Paula Makkonen is a skilled and experienced business development expert with a passion for supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With a diverse educational background across various fields, including economics, human resources development, marketing, and environmental management, Paula possesses a unique skill set that she brings to her work as a contracted expert for the Horizon EIC Accelerator evaluations.

In addition to her work with the Horizon EIC Accelerator, Paula is also a pro bono mentor for EBDR start-ups and has approved-nationwide service provider status for development services for SMEs at Centers for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. Paula is a partner at Inse Consulting Oy, and she has worked in various capacities in the business and education sectors throughout her career. She has also volunteered her time as a former Advisory Board Member at Code Nexus, former Advisory Group Member at FCA Investments Ltd, and former Chairman of the International Division at South-Savo Chamber of Commerce.
