Dr. Paul York is the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Deputy Title IX Coordinator at Texas A&M University-Central Texas. He recently completed his doctorate degree after making 256 round trips from his home in Georgetown to the A&M-Central Texas campus in Killeen where he took in-person classes.1
Early Life and Education
York grew up as a "confused, invisible kid" before attending Indiana University, where he was introduced to the power of his own potential.1 He majored in political science, considering law school, but ultimately decided to pursue a graduate degree in higher education after encouragement from a mentor.1
Career
York has worked as a student affairs professional for over 5 years, making significant contributions to TACUSPA and other organizations.2 He has sought to be a generalist in the field with experiences in Title IX, campus conduct, sexual misconduct, and more.3
Prior to his current role, York served as a missionary with AGUSM-Chi Alpha N. Texas in Fort Worth from 2001-2004 and as an Associate Professor of Missions at Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri from 2003-2013.7

York is the first in his family to go to college and has overcome adversity to achieve his PhD while working at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.5 He was featured on CBS Mornings for being the oldest graduate in the university's history at age 79.6
