PAUL CAVANAUGH

Paul Cavanaugh is an accomplished landscape designer, compost expert, and organic gardener with extensive experience in sustainable agriculture. He studied garden design, organic land care, pruning, and composting methods at NOFA Summer and Winter Conferences, and acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Plant Studies English at Brandeis University. Paul's passion lies in promoting "Smart City" concepts by developing unused lots and brownfields and creating "urban farms." He aims at building a locally based food system in communities that addresses economic disparity, creates jobs, and makes healthy food accessible, particularly in lower-income neighborhoods. He also educates community members, city and state stakeholders in support of appropriate policy changes in regards to land use and urban farming practices. To spread this knowledge and awareness, Paul dreams of creating a learning center that teaches sustainable agriculture methods. Apart from being an accomplished landscape designer, he is also the founder of Compost Tea Brewing and Delivery and has worked with companies such as Mariposa Fine Gardening and Pumpkin Brook Organic Gardening.
