Paul Bricault
Co-Founder, Managing Director, and Venture Partner
Paul Bricault is a prominent figure in the venture capital industry, serving as the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Amplify.LA, an early-stage venture capital fund and startup accelerator based in Venice, California. Amplify.LA was established in December 2011 and has since funded over 70 companies, focusing primarily on pre-seed and seed-stage investments.14
In addition to his role at Amplify.LA, Bricault is a Venture Partner at Greycroft Partners, where he has been involved since January 2011. His investment portfolio includes significant companies like Livefyre (acquired by Adobe) and Klout (acquired by Lithium) and he currently holds board positions or observer roles at several startups, including 9GAG and ZenBusiness.124
Bricault has a rich background in media and technology, having spent 16 years at the William Morris Agency, where he was an executive vice president and a member of the Board of Directors. He also founded The Mailroom Fund, a venture fund in partnership with notable firms such as Accel Partners and Venrock, aimed at early-stage digital media investments in Southern California.135
Academically, Bricault holds an MA in Communications Management from the USC Annenberg School and a combined Honors BA in English Literature and International Relations from the University of Western Ontario. He has also been an adjunct professor at USC's Graduate School of Cinema-Television for over two decades, teaching about the impact of technology on media.145 He resides in Venice, California, with his family.
