Sonal Chokshi

Sonal Chokshi is an accomplished editor with an extensive background in technology and psychology. She is best known for her work as the Editor in Chief at Andreessen Horowitz, also known as "a16z", a venture capital firm. Sonal joined a16z in 2014, where she built and managed the editorial team. Her most notable achievement was producing and hosting the a16z Podcast, which grew in listenership by over 100 times, becoming one of the most popular tech podcasts.

Prior to joining a16z, Sonal served as a Senior Editor at Wired, where she led the ideas and opinion section, making it the most sought after section in the magazine. During her tenure at Wired, she covered emerging trends such as eSports and the sharing economy. She also worked at Xerox PARC, where she directed content and community, and went deep into domains such as automation, bioinformatics, and natural language. Sonal's work has influenced tech policy, shaped important conversations around the future of the internet, and much more.

Sonal's academic background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
