HR Manager at iwi

As the Head of Human Resources for the USA and Canada, I serve as a strategic partner to two key business units within Boccard—Boccard Pipe Fabricators and Boccard Life Sciences—facilitating their remarkable growth of 62% and 64% respectively in 2023. My role involves spearheading the implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure compliance with laws in both countries while enhancing the overall employee experience across these units.

Key contributions

Manage recruitment and hiring procedures to attract and hire the best talent, reporting savings in the cost of staffing agencies of up to $500K in 2023.  Manage the entire process of sourcing and interviews, including engineering and executive positions.

Enhanced Benefits Administration: In 2023, I successfully introduced a new Professional Employer Organization (PEO) for both business units, elevating the quality of benefits plans and streamlining payroll processing in the USA.

Manage the employee retention program and other recognition programs.

Coordinate all Human Resources training programs, education, and materials gathering for managers and employees, including references to workshops and manuals for Boccard Pipe Fabricators and Boccard Life Sciences.

Implementing an in-house employee training system that addresses company training needs and costs. Managing the training process for operational and administrative staff to ensure adherence to the company's training plan.

Policy Communication and Compliance: I collaborate closely with management to effectively communicate HR policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring alignment with federal and state laws.

Follow all company policies as stated in the employee Handbook and Employee Health and Safety Manual (USA and Canada).

Ensure compliance with the internal Boccard Management System Policy.

Manage the annual performance reviews.

Coordinate follow-up with Safety for Injured workers.

Human Resources Business Partner (North America - US & CANADA)

Provide HR leadership and support to Qualitas-Health, Inc dba iwi including talent acquisition, engagement & employee retention, employee relations, strategic planning, organizational development, training, compensation, benefits, performance management, and talent management.
Proactively managing HR, evaluating issues, and developing solutions within the confines of policy and directives. Analyzing situations and data to recommend the best course of action and to make positive and active contributions to assist the organization in achieving its critical financial and growth goals.
Managing the compensation program includes:
Performing job analysis.
Developing job descriptions.
Analyzing salary surveys to monitor internal equity and market competitiveness.
Facilitating the performance evaluation program.
I am supporting the organization and guiding managers through the Salary Planning process.
My role is to identify and analyze training requirements for the company and translate the needs into training and development programs. 
I am working with closely with company leadership to develop short and long-term forecasts, departmental goals and objectives, and performance metrics in areas including staffing, problem prevention, and corrective action. I help integrate new concepts, technologies, and practices to prepare reports and analyses used by management for decision-making.

Other responsibilities include reporting issues' status to headquarters management on an ongoing basis.

 Develops and tracks project schedules.
 Providing input to annual budgets, including Labor Spending Budget, for review and approval by higher levels.

Human Resources Manager (direct report to CEO)

-Recruit, lead, train, motivate, develop, and empower team members in accordance with Group HR policies and procedures. Filling 18 of 22 positions in 1.5 months recruiting and sourcing directly (boolean searches, networking and social media techniques) high quality candidates for key positions in the Company.  Reducing the cost of the recruiting process eliminating staffing agencies, regular job boards, and headhunters.
- HRIS implementation process and the on-boarding of 70 employees on the new system to process payroll, benefits and the hiring process.
- Create and implementation of employment policies and procedures, along with the employee handbook that applies to 13 States within the USA (including California).
-Develop and maintain appropriate and effective communication with staff and service users on all matters relating to local legislation and regulations.
-Support the business with management development of their people, providing advice, guidance, and training. Assist with development plans and work with the business area to establish and introduce systems that identify employees with high potential, develop career paths in consideration of key roles for succession planning and self development.
-Provide support on the research, design, and development of HR initiatives in support of the HR strategy, using expert knowledge of the business and employee relations. 
-Identify short, medium, and long term resourcing issues. Build and maintain the local manpower plans, challenge management on new roles, replacements, recruitment, and retention strategies
-Embed a performance management culture within the business as means of driving business improvement by ensuring clear objectives, feedback and the improvement of customer service through behaviors aligned with our values.

HR Business Partner - US Hispanic GEO

Responsible for Talent Acquisition and Planning (Full Cycle of Recruitment) for both Corporate office and field locations. This includes more than 120 stores in the Houston, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Rio Valley and the San Antonio areas.
I built the Recruiting and Training Department from the ground up. 
I recruited all Corporate positions, both executive and administrative. For field locations, I recruit for several positions in the US and recently for our new operations in Mexico, including service and managerial positions. My efforts have resulted in substantial savings for Progreso by eliminating external recruiting. 

Recruiting for Distribution Center positions (sales reps, buyers, warehouse, drivers, administrative positions etc), executive positions and staff positions as well.

USA for a project ranging from February 2004 to May 2004.  At the Bank, I was assigned to a position as human resources consultant in the Learning Office for the purposes of a special project in the Leadership and Management office.

-Project Leader Accountable for the management and leadership of all resources associated with one of the largest projects in Iusacell. As a result of regulatory rulings, the entire transmission network needed to be modified with an investment of $USD 25M to achieve compliance. Responsibilities included personnel management, vendor relations, project management, capital and expense management, etc.  Project was completed achieving all objectives expected.
