Pascal Koenig

Pascal Koenig is a prominent entrepreneur and executive based in Zurich, Switzerland. He is best known as the Co-Founder and Executive Chair of Malaica, a digital health startup that focuses on improving maternal health outcomes in Kenya. Koenig has held this position since January 2021, working alongside a team that includes Dr. Lorraine Muluka to connect pregnant women with personal midwives through innovative technology like WhatsApp and video calls, ensuring continuous support throughout their pregnancy journey.12

Before founding Malaica, Koenig had a diverse career in various leadership roles. He was the Co-Founder and CEO of Ava Women from September 2013 to December 2019, where he helped build one of the leading femtech companies, achieving significant revenue growth. He also co-founded Limmex AG in 2008, which developed a cloud-based emergency system for seniors, and served as VP of Marketing and Operations at Cardiosafe International AG, where he contributed to the development of a telemetry system for cardiac patients.13

Koenig's educational background includes a Licentiate degree from the University of St. Gallen and an MBA Exchange program at Columbia Business School in 1999. He began his career as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company and has since accumulated extensive experience in the healthcare and technology sectors.13
