Pamir Alpay is a highly experienced materials engineer specializing in multi-scale modeling of materials, functional materials, and advanced manufacturing. With over 20 years of expertise in both education and research, he currently serves as the Executive Director of the Tech Park at the University of Connecticut, a cutting-edge research and development facility.
In his role, Pamir Alpay oversees 10 Applied Research Centers that have secured over $90 million in funding from industrial, state, and federal sources. Additionally, he holds the prestigious position of General Electric Endowed Professor in Advanced Manufacturing within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut.
Apart from his administrative and academic responsibilities, Pamir Alpay finds fulfillment in guiding and mentoring students to help them achieve their scientific and career aspirations. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University, a Master of Science in Materials Engineering from the same institution, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science from the University of Maryland College Park.
