Otis Murphy is a highly accomplished saxophonist with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in the music industry. He holds a Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he also earned a Performer’s Certificate. Additionally, he studied at the Conservatoire National Régional de Musique in Cergy-Pontoise, France, obtaining the Prix de Perfectionnement unanimously. He also holds a Bachelor of Music Education, graduating Magna Cum Laude from The University of Georgia.
Currently, Otis Murphy serves as a Professor at the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he imparts his knowledge and expertise to aspiring musicians. Previously, he has showcased his talent as an International Soloist, Orchestral Saxophonist, and Chamber Musician at various concerts, recitals, and educational events. He has also worked as a Performing Artist and Clinician for renowned music brands Yamaha and Rico, further demonstrating his versatility and skill in the field.
