David Dzubay
Professor of Music Composition at Indiana University Bloomington
David Dzubay is a renowned composer and conductor known for his expertise in contemporary music, ensemble, orchestra, choral, band, and chamber music. He has been the Director of the IU New Music Ensemble since 1992 and occasionally conducts orchestral programs. Dzubay also serves as faculty at the Brevard Music Center since 2011.
Dzubay's notable roles include being the Music Alive Composer-in-residence with the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra from 2005 to 2006 and acting as a 'Composer-Consultant' for Perfect Pitch Reading Sessions with the Minnesota Orchestra from 1995 to 1998.
In terms of education, David Dzubay pursued a Doctor of Music in composition, theory, and electronic music and a Master of Music in composition and trumpet, both at Indiana University Bloomington. He is currently a Professor of Music Composition, Chair of Composition, and the Director of the New Music Ensemble at Indiana University, having previously held a similar position at the University of North Texas.
