Nyasha Laing is a seasoned storyteller, strategic advisor, and lawyer with a focus on partnership, engagement, and equity strategies for creative industry and social justice clients. Currently a founding partner at Red Owl, Nyasha excels at developing and implementing engagement strategies to amplify the impact of social justice films.

With over 14 years of experience, Nyasha has consulted with numerous organizations and intergovernmental agencies globally, specializing in justice reform, community development, and resource mobilization projects. She is dedicated to enhancing the participation of marginalized groups such as Afrodescendant and indigenous communities, youth, women, and transformational leaders.

Nyasha's work in storytelling and impact production has garnered recognition at esteemed platforms like the Pan-African Film Festival, PBS, and BBC World Service. Through her expertise in design, strategy, and partnership outreach, she plays a pivotal role in advancing public dialogue and policy goals for democracy, sustainability, and equality.

Her educational background includes a BA in History from Yale University, a Graduate Program in International Affairs with a focus on Global Media Studies from The New School, and a JD in Law from New York University School of Law. Nyasha has held key positions at various organizations such as Impact Producer at Red Owl Partners, Communications Director at Black Organizing for Leadership and Dignity, and Senior Communications Officer at the International Center for Transitional Justice.

As a former Adjunct Assistant Professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and with experience as a Consultant and Advisor at Harriet Communications, Nyasha brings a wealth of knowledge in guiding social justice initiatives. Her background also includes roles such as Deputy Registrar, Legal Officer at Belize Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Attorney General, demonstrating a diverse skill set in legal and advocacy domains.
