Nihar Jindal is a highly experienced Senior Staff Hardware Engineer at Google, currently leading a team working on Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies for Google Hardware products such as Pixel phones. With a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from UC Berkeley, Nihar has immense knowledge and experience in the field of wireless technology. Previously, he has worked at Broadcom as a Senior Principal Engineer, where he focused on WLAN systems design and development, and wireless broadband access. He has also worked as an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, where he taught courses on wireless communication, information theory, and probability. His research on innovative wireless technology has been published in numerous internationally recognized journals, and his work on Multi-user MIMO has influenced the standardization of MU-MIMO in WLAN (802.11ac) and cellular (LTE) networks. Nihar is committed to wireless regulatory efforts to open 6 GHz spectrum to unlicensed usage (e.g., WiFi 6E) and issues around radar operation in 60 GHz.
