Nicole Espy

Dr. Nicole Espy is a renowned expert in virology, drug and vaccine development, molecular biology, emergency response, and project management.

She holds a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences of Public Health from Harvard University and a B.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University.

Currently, Dr. Espy serves as the Diagnostics Project Manager for the HIV Vaccine Trials Network and COVID-19 Prevention Network at Fred Hutch, contributing significantly to the advancement of infectious disease research.

Her previous roles include a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), highlighting her dedication to public health and infectious disease study.

Before that, she worked as a Graduate Student at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and received training as an Intramural Research Training Awardee at the National Institutes of Health, enriching her scientific expertise.

Dr. Espy has also gained valuable experience as an Emergency Operations Center Intern at the Pan American Health Organization, demonstrating her commitment to emergency response and crisis management in public health situations.

Furthermore, she has contributed to humanitarian efforts through her past roles as a Resettlement Intern at the International Rescue Committee and a National Science Foundation Plant Genome Research Intern at Cornell University, showcasing her diverse skill set and interests in various fields of study.
