Dr. Naif Khalaf Alharbi is an accomplished Research Scientist with expertise in vaccine development, particularly focusing on MERS-CoV.
He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Virology and Vaccinology from the University of Oxford and has a strong background in recombinant viruses, immunoassays, molecular microbiology, experimental animals, and leadership.
Dr. Alharbi pursued his education with a Postdoctoral research fellowship and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Virology and Vaccinology at the University of Oxford. Prior to this, he completed a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Molecular medical microbiology at the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Medical Microbiology at Qassim University.
Throughout his career, Dr. Alharbi has held various significant roles. He is currently the Director of the Vaccine Development Unit at the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC). Previously, he served as a Research Scientist, Director of Research Quality Improvement, Visiting Fellow, Head of the Biosafety Office, Associate Research Scientist, Postdoctoral Researcher, On-scholarship, and Research Technologist, all at the KAIMRC.
His professional experience includes a focus on vaccine development research, where he has showcased his skills in leading research projects, collaborating on important studies, and contributing to the field of vaccinology.
