Neil Shen

Neil Shen is a prominent Chinese venture capitalist and entrepreneur, known for his significant contributions to the investment landscape in China. He is the founding and managing partner of HongShan, previously known as Sequoia Capital China, which is the Chinese arm of the renowned Silicon Valley venture capital firm, Sequoia Capital. Under Shen's leadership, HongShan has invested in over 1,000 companies, with around 60 achieving unicorn status, including major names like Alibaba and ByteDance.123

Born in 1967 in Haining, Zhejiang, Shen excelled in mathematics from a young age. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1989 and later earned a master's degree in management from Yale University in 1992.134
