Neil Mehta, Managing Partner at Greenoaks Capital

Neil Mehta is the founder and managing partner of Greenoaks Capital, a venture capital firm he started in 2010 that focuses on making concentrated, long-term investments in great technology-enabled consumer businesses globally.23 Some of Greenoaks' notable investments include Airtable, Brex, Checkout, Cockroach Labs, Coupang, Deliveroo, Discord, Kavak, KeepTruckin, Klaviyo, Rippling, Robinhood, Sea, Stripe, Toast, TripActions, Vivid, and Zetwerk.2

Prior to founding Greenoaks, Mehta was a senior investment professional at Orient Property Group Ltd. in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for global special situation investments in Asia.12 He also previously worked at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, investing in private companies in the general business and technology sector.12

Mehta earned a BSc in Government from the London School of Economics and Political Science.1 He is based in San Francisco.3

In addition to his venture investing, Mehta has been on a real estate buying spree in San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood, acquiring seven commercial buildings along Fillmore Street through affiliated LLCs.4 He plans to replace some chain retail stores with locally owned shops and restaurants.45

Mehta is considered a rising luminary in the venture capital world, having invested in all of the top six companies in the Forbes Cloud 100 and 17 of the 100 companies overall.6
