Neil Casey is a highly experienced higher education consultant with over thirty years of experience in senior leadership roles in the UK education sector. Casey has a vast knowledge of academic quality and standards, degree awarding powers, academic policy, regulations, learning and teaching, partnerships, governance effectiveness, and engagement with external review bodies. He has worked with the Quality Assurance Agency as a reviewer, a Quality Manager, and in specific projects, such as the development of audit methodologies for the Hong Kong University Grants Committee.

Casey studied Social Sciences, Sociology, and Politics at the University of York and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Sociology from Plymouth Polytechnic. Prior to becoming a consultant, he was the Dean of Quality & Standards at the University of Gloucestershire, the Dean of Academic Affairs at University College Plymouth, St Mark & St John, and worked at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education as a Review Manager and Institutional Reviewer.

Among his previous high profile assignments are providing advice on degree awarding powers application and assessment, preparing for QAA reviews, and conducting consultancies on working with international pathway providers.
