Neal Kaufman, MD, MPH is a renowned medical professional and entrepreneur who has been at the forefront of healthcare technology innovation for over 2 decades. Having studied Pediatrics and Medicine at prestigious universities such as Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, respectively, Dr. Kaufman has a strong foundation in clinical care. He also holds an MPH from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and a BA in Biology from Northwestern University. Throughout his career, he has been a professor of Pediatrics and Public Health at UCLA, Commissioner at First 5 LA, Director of Division of Academic Primary Care Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and Head of Community Pediatrics at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.
In 2004, Dr. Kaufman founded Canary Health, a digital health company that creates innovative solutions enabling clinicians to help their patients adopt and maintain healthy behaviors. His approach is rooted in patient self-management support theories, research-based protocols, and the realities of real-world clinical practice. Dr. Kaufman's experience in health promotion, disease prevention, and clinical care has empowered him to develop clinically-linked programs based on how seasoned clinicians provide care that are linked into community resources and supports that are enabled by sophisticated information technology.
